Blazer Pencil Torch – Great for Cigars!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This blazer is an excellent tool for soldering or small brazing projects. Where I find it really shines is as a Cigar Lighter! It’s easy to use, flame is controllable, has a large tank, fits in your “finger case” or other easily and can’t be beat for “toasting” the foot prior to lighting. It’s become my favorite amoungst a number of 2 and 3 torch units.

    Great torch for $6

I have this same torch but I would not pay $15 for it. It’s great but for the $6 i paid for it. Check it out dealextreme and ships free. Once again i could have bought 3 of these for this price. thats it for now!

Almost a perfect tool for many uses
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The PT4000 is an excellent tool that can be used for many uses beyond its soldering iron intentions. Although the flame is not optimal when upside down, this little gadget is worth it’s weight in gold. There needs to be a standard lighter option on this in case one doesn’t need the intensity of the torch flame. Other than that… haven’t found much better around.

This is an item my husband has used for several years. When one wore out, he wanted a replacement. It arrived quickly and has been in use since.

    Always use Vector butane
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This quality item works best with Vector highly filtered butane. My prior one clogged from using other butane.

I bought this product for lighting cigars and it has worked out just fine with “Vector” fuel. The flame is a bit large even on the lowest setting although nothing a bit of finese can’t cure. I find the build quality to be durable and the price worth while. I would definitly not reccomend this product for brazing anything larger than 1/4″ copper as it simply doesn’t generate enough heat.

really loving this torch. i use it for basic silversmithing work. Love the ease and sharpness of the flame. Great for many other uses as well.

    totally disfunctional “tool”

Torche (PT4000) arrived empty. Purchased fuel and still didn’t operate.

Bought flint striker and still no light. Must leak like a broken levey.

    Works great.

Lights easy and burns great. The only complaint is that the flame blows out VERY easy, an A/C unit or very light breeze etc.will blow the flame out. If the shroud were even 1/16-1/8″ deeper it would be perfect. I use outdoors as a pyrotechnic shooter and this is a very important feature. I have added a metal sleeve to increase the shroud depth and it now works just fine.

i use this item in a unconventional way and that is as a cigar lighter. its perfect for that application. it last’s the better part of 2 to 3 weeks. and is up the job of touching up my cigars as i smoke them. the other thing i like is that i have really good control of the unit and dont have to worry about burning my fingers or other issues. i’ve also used my old one for the last 5 years with no problems
